The other morning Jack woke up and asked me, "Mommy, where is Isaac?"
I thought for a moment, then replied, "I think he is in the library with his mommy." Our friend Tara is the church librarian and she brings her son Isaac with her to work. Jack looks forward to seeing Isaac when we go.
Jack answered me, "No. Isaac is (mumble mumble)." I couldn't understand the rest of the sentence. We moved on with our conversation and I didn't think much of it.
Later that day at the dinner table, Jeremy was prompting Jack to tell me what they were reading about in the Bible last night. Jack decided not to share. Then it dawned on me - Jack and I were not talking about the same Isaac! I asked Jack if he read about Isaac in the Bible last night. I shared with Jeremy our conversation from the morning - and Jeremy laughed! When Jack asked me where Isaac was, mommy was supposed to answer that Isaac was in his mommy's tummy! They were reading about how God blessed Abraham and Sarah with the child that had been promised to then.
I praise God that the time spent in His word resonates on Jack's little heart.
