It is amazing how much things can change in just two and a half short weeks!
I think the first three days home from the hospital were the hardest days of my life so far. We had a lot of adjusting to do - and we still do! But a huge praise is that things are coming along and have slowly gotten better day by day. I am so thankful to my friends and family who have continued to lift up our family in prayer through this transition. THANK YOU!
Some good news:
- Mitch is now nursing (not that it would be a bad thing for him to bottle feed, it just is a little bit easier for me and not taking as much time away from Jack).
- I have lost a TON of weight so far. Well, not 2000 pounds, but I'll take 27!! YEA! It is certainly progress and that is good for not being able to try yet. Thank you Mitch for weighing so much!
- Goals are being met! Jeremy and I have made small goals for ourselves like getting out of the house for church on Sunday by 10:00am or getting to the Children's Festival on Saturday. We are happy to report that with our paired efforts, we have been able to get out of the house with our two children ON TIME for each event. We even conquered a trip to the grocery store for fresh produce with the boys. I know this doesn't seem like a huge accomplishment - but for me, as I make the transition to two, this is huge!! The funniest part in all of this is that I will look back in about a month and go, "Yeah, so what??!?"
- Jack is doing better everyday. We are seeing him come to realize that his baby brother is now a permanent fixture in our lives. He certainly lets us know when he wants us to put Mitch down or to play only with Jack...but again, we are so glad he is able to communicate this to us. We can still be in prayer for him as this is a huge change in his life and he does get emotional about it from time to time.
- We have been so blessed by family and friends. We have been brought meals, sent cards, given gifts and cared for by so many. We are so thankful for the prayers that have been lifted up on our behalf and all of the love we have been given. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts! We are so grateful for the care so many have shown to us.

You are amazing. It always took me 6 weeks to get to where you are now!
Way to go Marlene. A step at a time! Your children will rise up and call you blessed...
