Baby Heart Beat

Today we (all of us) went to the doctor for our check-up on baby No. 2 at about 13.5 weeks. All is progressing well and I am behind where I was with Jack on weight gain (a relief for me!!). We were able to hear the baby's heartbeat too. Jack was a little scared when the midwife put the microphone up to my tummy, but settled when we explained what was going on and heard the heartbeat for himself. It was about 150...

Now since we have been home, Jack keeps telling me, "Baby heartbeat!" We are confident that he will slowly begin to understand this whole big brother thing as he gets closer to age two.

How Jack Counts...

Jeremy and Jack have a special project: Working on counting to ten! We are very proud of all that Jack has learned and were thrilled when the pattern of 1 to ten started to emerge. Here is a how counting to ten is going in our house:

Daddy: One.
Jack: One.
Daddy: Two.
Jack: Two.
Daddy: Three.
Jack: Four.
Daddy: Five.
Jack: Six.
Daddy: Seven.
Jack: Eight.
Daddy: Nine.
Jack: Eight.
Daddy: Ten, ten comes after nine! Eight, nine, ten!

I guess he wants to work on counting backwards now!

Oh, and a funny note, if you start to say the even numbers and he has to say the odd ones, then he says, "No!!" and laughs. He likes those even numbers. :)

Sorry for the delay in updates...

I have to apologize for my lack of blogging lately. We got a different camera and I have been waiting to put the new software on my computer...but I have to call Dell to get an unreadable file fixed. Anyhow, I promise more updates hopefully by the end of the week. :)
